Tradition of the Mushroom. Mushrooms are considered to be a good luck symbol. Associated with nature and the beauty of the forest, finding a mushroom is considered to be very lucky and to mean good fortune is at hand. Mushroom ornaments are displayed on Christmas trees in Germany in honor of the people’s reverence for nature and in hope of good luck in the the New Year.

Noah’s Ark
My dad made an Ark for my mom when I was about 2 years old. It is her prized possession. Over a year ago, I began to collect the schleich-s animals. For Christmas, I told my dad I wanted him to build me an Ark. He suggested we make it together over Thanksgiving. So that is just what we did.
